Hello fellow readers, today I'm going to be reviewing TeamLiquid's Liquidsmooth v2.2 ROM .
LiquidSmooth is an Android ROM based on AOSP with a lot of cherry picks from other roms , it makes the "sum" of the best in android features (as I believe ) which makes tons of pure awesomeness and personalization .
This ROM is now my daily driver , it has all that can make me quit being an ORD affected person : smoothness , personalization and performance !
So with no more waiting let's crack down this beast and see what it got !
As you press the power button , a beautiful clock widget pops out at you
along with shortcuts of apps ( that you have choosen previously , of course)
much like the ones you can find in natureUX for samsung latest devices.
all on top of your lockscreen ring , you can swipe left or right to see your other widgets like in stock 4.2.2 AOSP or you can use pie to have fast and
easy access to your notifications or quick switches .
You can set a custom background or a transparent lockscreen (*_*) , allow rotation , use custom lockcreen targets and modify the regular security settings .
The security can be set to the normal modes , plus a 4*4 , 5*5 and 6*6 grid
in the pattern mode .
Homescreen :
The home launcher is our regular AOSP home , you have a nice clock widget with a clock (duh) , weather and the next calendar events .
Apollo's music widget has a cool feature : the 4*2 widget shows you the recently listened music !
Notification Drawer & Quick settings:
the notification drawer isn't a lot different from the normal AOSP one BUT you can customize almost everything on it : you can add a custom background for it , add the quick settings as in android 4.1's CM releases
and custom shortcuts for your apps as seen in Sense UI , you can change your network provider's name for a custom text , and display your Wifi's SSID next to it .
The quick settings are easily customizable , a lot of useful switches have been added : quiet hours , torch , NFC ...
You can changes the tile's colors , behaviours , layouts and quantity .
Pie controls :
Pie is probably the sexiest thing added to this ROM :
it replaces your Navbar in a much sexier way: it displays the navbar buttons, a clock , a battery bar , some system info(wifi, battery ...) the date , your notifications all in a beautiful round display .
all of the pie's targets can be customized , you can also change it's colors and the fonts .... etc
All in all , LiquidSmooth is an awesome ROM with tons of cool features , the smoothness is undisputed . Along with AK kernel it makes the perfect custom ROM-kernel combibnation .
